Beaulieu have worked hard to ensure their products offer a range of benefits to their customers to make them the optimal carpet choice. The most prominent benefit is the use on their ActiveCare® treatments, which is used on all Beaulieu Australia MediCover® ESD carpets and selected commercial Beaulieu ESD carpets. ActiveCare®, unlike most carpet surface treatments, is integrated into the carpet during the manufacture process, infusing it with the carpet fibre. This treatment helps the carpet withstand repeated cleaning and also helps neutralise odours. Made from both organic and inorganic materials, ActiveCare® has no adverse environmental effects and no odour of its own.
Their products also feature the EASYBAC® – the world’s most advanced backing system – offering simple installation, comfort for your feet, and thermal and acoustic insulation properties. And to protect your new carpet from stains, their PERMASHIELD® provides stain and soil resistance, plus makes your carpet easy to clean for a longer-lasting designer look.
Beaulieu Australia also manufactures a range of broadloom carpets approved by the Sensitive Choice Program of the National Asthma Council of Australia. These carpets are created to offer a better choice for those suffering from asthma or allergies. Made from premium solution-dyed nylon and featuring the UltraFresh®, ActiveCare® and Easybac® properties, they are designed to reduce asthma triggers such as mould, mildew and dust mites.
Fibre Types
With a better understanding of the key benefits of buying a Beaulieu carpet, let’s look at their carpet fibre options. In their residential broadloom collection, Beaulieu have three main fibre types: Polyester, Nylon and Polypropylene.
Most of Beaulieu carpets are made from Nylon – a type of plastic that is durable, stretchy, and perfect for soft and cosy carpets. Nylon holds its carpet texture longer than most other carpets, as well as its colour. It is naturally stain-resistant and robust, making it perfect for high-traffic areas, families and those that love their pets. Due to its ease of manufacture, it also offers a great range of diversity in colour and pattern. Beaulieu even offers carpet tile options in Nylon for easy installation. However, nylon is prone to static electricity, which can also cause dust build up. A simple clean with the vacuum regularly is best to get the most out of a nylon carpet.
Beaulieu also stocks a selection of Polypropylene carpets. These carpets have great performance qualities, especially including stain and fade resistance – perfect for any areas prone to spillages such as your dining room or children’s bedrooms. They are super easy to clean and maintain. However, they are best suited to areas of the home with less traffic, as these carpets aren’t as robust as nylon.
The remaining fibre option in the Beaulieu broadloom collection is Polyester. Offering a velvety softness underfoot, polyester is a great choice if you’re looking for a luxurious carpet for your home. It also has less of a static electricity problem as opposed to nylon. It dyes well, offering a good choice of colour and is highly resistant to fading. Like the other carpets, it is also stain and water-resistant, making spills easy to clean. However, Polyester is not as durable as the other fabric options and is prone to matting.
